Plant extracts that benefit your skin

28 May 2018
What's New

There are many plant extracts that are good for your skin. Most cosmetic and cosmeceutical products today contain some sort of natural ingredient, mainly obtained from some part of a plant.

In Décaar we have incorporated beneficial extracts obtained from the seeds, fruits, leaves or roots that are gentle on the skin and are very efficient at healing certain skin conditions or slowing ageing signs.

Five plant extracts used in Décaar products

Aloe barbadensis

Aloe barbadensis is one of the best aloes that has soothing and antioxidant properties and serves as a hydrating agent for the skin. It provides a refreshing sensation that you can experience when you clean your skin with our Oxygen or Natural Exfoliating scrubs. It is also found in our Pure Cleansing Gel, a gentle cleanser for oily skin.

Swiss Apple

Stem cells from the Swiss apple Uttwiler Spätlauber, a rare variety of Malus domestica, not only has the potent antioxidant abilities that benefit the skin by limiting the production of damaging free radicals, it also protects it from the effect of UV radiation and delays deterioration of the cells. This efficient wrinkle reductor is one of the components of Décaar’s Oxygen serum. It not only decreases the signs of ageing but it is also suitable for treating skin conditions like eczema.

Bearberry

Bearberry or Arbutin exhibits antioxidant activity and most notably, its effectiveness for brightening an uneven skin tone has been proven by an increasing amount of research. It also improves the appearance of dark spots from unprotected sun exposure or body changes such as those that occur during pregnancy. You can benefit from it in Décaar’s Brightening Mask.

Argan oil

This is a non-fragrant oil expressed from the kernels of argan trees, Argania espinosa. Argan oil contains several beneficial fatty acids for the skin, including oleic, palmitic and linoleic acid. It is a good source of antioxidant vitamin E. It is also a good emollient that we include in Décaar’s Lift Firming Eye Cream.

Green tea

Green tea or Camellia sinensis extracts applied topically have many benefits for the skin, including anti-ageing properties. Its polyphenols possess potent antioxidant and skin-soothing properties. It can improve the appearance of sun-damaged skin. In Décaar we combine it with other antioxidants and you can benefit from it in our Natural Exfoliation Scrub.

What's New

A healthy looking skin needs no masking away. It is never too late to heal those imperfections you have been covering with makeup to conform to social pressures. Let us guide you so you can “Dare to be yourself” and show with pride the result of proper care to your body’s largest organ: the skin.

Say goodbye to concealing every day

Imagine one day waking up and being able to let your skin breathe without having to apply primer, concealer and foundation to cover skin flaws like spots, pimples and under eye bags. Wouldn’t it be great if you could just step out with less makeup and more of a bare healthy looking skin?

Toxins are everywhere

Regardless of where you live, your skin is exposed to toxins from within your body and from your surroundings. In some places, the water carries salts or metals that can contribute to clogged pores or uneven skin colour. Suspended particles in the air that you breathe in, can act as vessels to tiny poisonous substances. And then there is stress, the ultimate source of body toxins. All these particles move around in your bloodstream and there is a high chance for some to damage your, otherwise, flawless skin.

Is it possible to heal years of skin damage?

Cosmeceuticals like those manufactured by Décaar, aim at healing the skin. Exfoliation with natural products like the ones in our Algae Peeling Regime have proven to effectively treat even the most sensitive skin types. By removing dead cells that could result in clogged pores, leading to blemishes and acne, you allow the most suitable skincare product to penetrate and actively beautify your skin.

Protect your skin from the Sun with Décaar

14 May 2018
What's New

Any skincare routine during the day must finish with the application of a sunblock product. It is essential to protect your skin by shielding it from the harsh rays of the Sun. This need is not restricted to the Summer months but it becomes more apparent when we expose ourselves to the warmth of our closest star.

Benefits of applying a sunscreen

Some of the benefits of shielding your skin with a sunscreen are:

  1. Block the harmful rays of the Sun from penetrating the skin and triggering skin disorders.
  2. Prevent premature skin ageing in the form of wrinkles and fine lines.
  3. Prevent sun ray induced damages such as blotchiness, acne and sunburns.
  4. Maintenance of structure of essential skin proteins such as collagen and elastin.

Décaar cosmetics offers the following sunscreen options:

Oxygen Cream SPF 30

A high protective cream with UV filters that keeps the skin looking and feeling hydrated and energised while it can breathe freely. Helps resist against wrinkles and recover from the signs of everyday life. Its active ingredient delivers Oxygen to the skin and improves its vitality.

BB Oxygen Cream SPF 50

This coloured sun cream is quickly absorbed without any greasiness, leaving a refreshing, smooth skin. Its tone changes and adapts to the natural skin colour with natural light. Any freckles, blackheads or dark skin will lighten up.

Brightening Cream SPF 50

Contains a stable system of UVB, UVA, IR and VIS protective filters. Its natural knotweed extract is rich in resveratrol, a highly antioxidant substance that is very efficient at preventing skin ageing. The D3 StimuLight is a light-activated vitamin D precursor, necessary in maintaining the biological balance between UV protection and the body’s need for vitamin D. Ectoin prevents photo-ageing and damage of cell parts, and it moisturises perfectly and eliminates dark spots.

Alternatives to animal testing

7 May 2018
What's New

There is no valid reason today to test products for human use on animals. The alternatives to animal testing are readily available and have proven to be more accurate and reliable than using guinea pigs or rabbits.

Synthetic skin

There are a few options available of models that resemble the physical and chemical structure of human skin. Some of them are three dimensional real structures and others contain all the mathematical information in a computer.

Scientists have made human cells grow into tiny skin tissue in test tubes in the laboratory. This in vitro possibility allows the cosmeceutical formulator to test for skin corrosivity and irritation. The same test can be done virtually using sophisticated correlation models that look at the reaction of the skin to new substances with an accuracy of 90 to 95%

no animal testing

Donated skin

It is possible to obtain human skin donated from a cosmetic surgical procedure or even post-mortem. There are companies that place the tissue in kits for the skincare industry to use instead or the cruel rabbit irritation tests.

Microdosing on human volunteers

Microdosing consists in applying very low quantities of a substance on the skin of human volunteers to test the effects at the cellular level. This is a very effective way to look at the reaction of different types of skin to a cosmeceutical product that replaces tests on animals.

In Décaar there is zero animal cruelty

Décaar’s no animal testing policy is in line with our philosophy of creating safe and efficient skincare products and cabin treatments to satisfy the most specific skin types and concerns.

What's New

Skincare for men is based on cleaning and moisturising every day. Past the stage of fighting acne and until the wrinkles appear, every man should have a basic routine for winning the skin game. It is easy to combine it with the regular shave or the grooming of your beard.

Décaar cosmetics are suitable for men as well as for women. You just have to know what your skin type is and start enjoying a healthier skin today. We have put together basic guidelines that will help any man incorporate the so much needed steps for a great looking face.

Cleaning includes exfoliating

The experts recommend cleaning your face twice a day. Having a cleaning product in the shower and/or one next to your beard care or shaving kit will ensure that you remove those dead skin cells that might stick together and can make your face look dull. Dermatologists also recommend exfoliating at least once a week.

Your most likely skin type

Most men have oily skin or a combination, since they have more sebaceous glands than women. Décaar’s Oily and Combination line offers the perfect solution for calming and rebalancing this type of skin, including those with acne problems.

Moisturise

After cleansing you should apply a moisturising product that will depend on your skin type. Always seek advice from a professional. Décaar’s four series of products make it simple to choose the best product to suit your needs.

The benefits of exfoliating with Algae uniqueness

23 April 2018
What's New

The importance of exfoliating your skin

Exfoliation is a practice that removes dead cells from the surface of the skin. It is as important as daily cleansing, moisturising and sun protection to ensure your skin will be as healthy as possible.

If you do not exfoliate your skin it can end up looking dull, rough and dry as old cells start to pile up on the surface. The buildup of dead skin cells could result in excess oil and clogged pores, leading to blemishes and acne.

exfoliating

Skin type and exfoliation

Regardless of your skin type, whether you have acne or sensitive skin, exfoliating is beneficial. It makes the pores appear smaller as it removes the dead cells from the top layers. It also opens the way for moisturising products or acne treatments to penetrate deeper into the skin, making them more efficient.

Benefits of an Algae peeling

If your skin is oily or acne prone, manual or physical exfoliation using rough scrubs can contribute to breakouts. A product that includes natural ingredients like the micro-fibre from Algae, provides a 100% safe treatment process. A light touch is all you need to slough off the dead skin cells. Consult your aesthetician about this alternative to gritty scrubs.

Using an Algae peeling powder replaces the use of plastic pellets that go down the drain and can eventually pollute rivers, lakes, and oceans.

Not only do the natural ingredients found in Algae represent a biodegradable option to reduce water pollution, they also represent a milder option to abrasive chemicals found in prescription exfoliating products.

Why DÉCAAR has the most advanced treatment for exfoliation

The combination of ingredients like Algae, herbs and organic compounds with a high capacity for transporting Oxygen in solution, make Décaar Algae Peeling Regime the most advanced and effective treatment on the market for skin problems like acne, blemished skin, dry or wrinkled skin, age spots, pigmentation, Couperose-prone and Rosacea skin, scars and enlarged pores. It is safe to use even on ultra-sensitive skin types.

Décaar Algae Peeling Regime stimulates the fibroblasts to produce collagen and elastin, stimulates the Langerhans cells, involved in antimicrobial immunity, to eliminate bacteria overgrowth thus reducing acne, eczema and conditions like rosacea.
